Our territory

Cala Gonone is an old fishing village on the eastern coast of Sardinia. The coast boasts some of the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, set amongst high chalky cliffs reflected in the transparent turquoise sea. The seabed of white limestone enhances the transparency of the water bestowing it an intense colour, ideal for practicing water sports. From the famous caves of the “Bue Marino”, the last retreat of the monk seal, to the pinnacle of the “Cala Goloritzè” sailing southward, you will find the well-known Cala Luna, the quiet and peaceful Cala Sisine, the beach of Cala Biriola, with its small stone arch, the beautiful Cala Mariolu and Cala dei Gabbiani, immersed in tones of turquoise-blue.

Days by the sea can be complemented with excursions inland to discover Gorroppu – the deepest canyon of Europe, or Tiscali - the neuralgic village in the heart of the mountain, Orgosolo – with its wall murals and life in the country and finally the caves of Ispinigoli with its majestic stalagmites.

How to reach us

From Olbia: Km 110 – 1h, 15’ --- SS 131 DCN direction Nuoro. Exit (24 km before the town of Nuoro) for “Dorgali, Bitti , Lula” follow directions for Dorgali. Go through the town of Dorgali and on the SS 125 enter the tunnel for Cala Gonone. After another 7 km the hotel Miramare can be found in the centre of the town.

From Alghero: Km 200 – 2h, 20’ --- SS 291 direction Sassari, take the SS 131 in the direction of Nuoro, Cagliari. In the vicinity of Macomer follow directions for Nuoro. Come off the 131 and take the SS129. After 17 km (Agip petrol station) directions Ottana. From here follow directions for Nuoro continue on the 131 dcn. Continue in the direction of Olbia. 24 km Exit “Dorgali, Bitti, Lula” . Follow directions for Dorgali. Go through the town of Dorgali and on the SS 125 enter the tunnel for Cala Gonone. After another 7 km the hotel Miramare can be found in the centre of the town.

From Cagliari: Km 230 – 2h, 30 --- SS 131 direction Nuoro. After about 120 km in the vicinity of Ghilarza take the SS 131 DCN direction Nuoro. Follow directions for Olbia for 24 km . Take the exit for “Dorgali, Bitti, Lula” . Follow directions for Dorgali. Go through the town of Dorgali and on the SS 125 enter the tunnel for Cala Gonone. After another 7 km the hotel Miramare can be found in the centre of the town.
